Bank of the West has recently implemented Zelle, a digital feature that allows our customers to send money – typically in minutes¹ — to friends, family and others they know and trust.² As with any online service, we want to ensure our customers are protecting their account information.

  • Send only to those you know. Customers should only send money via Zelle to friends, family, or those they know and trust. This should not be used as a bill-payment option.
  • Sign up for account alerts. Keep up to date on what is happening in your account.
  • Contact your financial institution if you see anything unusual. If you see anything out of the ordinary on your account, contact your financial institution immediately.

¹Zelle is available to almost any bank account in the U.S. Transactions between enrolled Zelle users typically occur in minutes. If your recipient is not yet enrolled with Zelle, it may take between 1 and 3 business days after enrollment.

²Zelle is intended for sending money to family, friends, and people with whom you are familiar. We recommend that you do not use Zelle to send money to persons that you do not know.

Zelle and the Zelle-related marks are wholly owned by Early Warning Services, LLC and are used herein under license.
